We’d just like to extend a warm welcome to anyone who has stumbled across us after reading this weekend’s article in ‘The Observer’ magazine.
Entitled ‘Meet the Greenshifters’ (see link in the Media Archive section in the column on the right-hand side of the page) it describes the lives of four ‘downshifting’ families & their trials & tribulations, as well as tips on how to become a smallholder for those interested, enthusiastic, brave &/or daft enough to have a go (I often think a combination of all four is a healthy mix!). And we’re one of the four families who were used as a case study.
We do hope you’ll enjoy the Blog & hopefully find it informative if you are either about to or have just taken the plunge, as smallholders yourselves. Jo also writes regular articles for ‘Smallholder’ magazine if you want to read our story in more detail than was outlined in The Observer.
Here on the Blog, the Page Menu above will guide you to specific areas; alternatively type a word in the ‘search’ box & you should find what you’re looking for, that way. Or try floating on the ‘Tag Cloud’, in the right-hand column – who knows what you might find….?!
If you’d like more information on how to get started in smallholding or would like to sample some of our delicious gelato (soon to be available by mail order!), please feel free to leave a comment below or visit our website at www.lovespoongelato.co.uk & contact us from there.
Or if you’re specifically interested in the ice cream, you might like to read a bit more about it by clicking the link in our post entitled ‘Drafty!’, published on 16th July 2008.
Anyway, must dash – so many goats to milk, so little time!
Jo, Tony & menagerie.
