Happy Birthday Tony!

It’s Tony’s birthday today –

so please join me in wishing him a Very Happy Birthday.

It was a nice, quiet day, in the end; although Tony’s lie-in had to be cut short with a rude awakening when someone turned up (as they do on occasion) looking for scrap metal or to do painting etc….no thanks chaps, we trust Kev & John do always an excellent job for us.  So he did some chores & cut some brambles along the side wall of the lambing shed (thankfully for once he DID put the loppers back – but did not clean them first, balancing them on the blade, not the handle ends – why oh WHY do men do jobs, yet never clear up after themselves?  Boys, if you don’t look after your tools they don’t look after you….& they don’t last.  Tony.  Get the hint.).  Hrrumph.

Then it was time to open his cards & pressies, & cut his caterpillar birthday cake, accompanied by a bottle of bucks fizz.  As we’re out & about tomorrow in Cardiff Bay we decided to have supper at home: so whilst he put an external telephone bell on the house (with the theory that I can hear the ‘phone ringing, even when I’m right down in the lower yard; then I can hot-foot it back to the house, just in time to miss the call….)  I cooked him a hearty fish pie which was washed down with a delicious glass of WolfBlass Cabernet Sauvignon – one of his favourites, & a super birthday gift from our neighbours on the hill – & of course, more birthday cake!  I even sang him ‘Happy Birthday to You’ in Welsh, as he blew out his candle……despite being a caterpilar cake I opted for only one, as I didn’t want to burn the place down – hee hee!  ;0)

    Happy Birthday to Tony!

Thank you both for your service in the RAF.
Am I reading it correctly that Tony is till RAF and is in Beirut?

    Hi there, PattyAnn –

welcome to Wales & the wonderful world of goats’ milk!

We were glad to be of service in the RAF – but no, we are no longer part of said organisation – we both retired a fair while ago now as we sincerely wanted a change in our lives’ direction.

So now I’m a herder of goats rather than a leader of men (same difference, really!) & Tony’s an airline pilot – whose routes, inevitably, take him all over the world; even to places as far-flung as beautiful Beirut.

That said he’s looking forward to a second early retirement to enjoy a full-time, full-on life on the Ffarm…there’s no pleasing some people, eh?!

    Best wishes,

    Jo, Tony & FfF menagerie.

Happy Birthday Tony! I think I’ll have a drink for you right now! It’s the least I could do.

P.s. Thanks for coming over and giving alone&14 the what for!

    No probs, PJ –

only said it like it is – just as you did; incidentally I thought your comments in your entirely justified defence, were classic – & that individual totally deserved taking down a peg or three!

Don’t you find some of the stuff that happens on Blogs is fascinating but occasionally a bit weird? It’s almost as if, just by our written word, people we’d otherwise never have even met feel they somehow own us & what we say/do…..sometimes it seems the pen really is mightier than the sword!
