FMD Rollercoaster

So the news looks bad….

and then, it looks up again.  Today the Temporary Control Zone put in place a couple of days ago, has been lifted as the calves in question thankfully tested negative for FMD; it was just a viral infection as both the farmer concerned – & his vet – had suspected.  How long will this go on for, though?  It’s a real rollercoaster ride of emotions throughout the farming community; although some are singularly more sanguine about the whole situation, than others.  We are taking no chances, snigger though I’m sure some may at our cautious approach.  But they’d laugh on the other side of their faces if Tony returned from London with the virus on his car through sloppy biosecurity, & spread it throughout the local countryside….as ever, therefore; better safe than sorry.
