Hi, you mentioned a while ago that you have a load of fleeces. As a spinner, I was wondering do you have any that you might sell? what condition are they in, how have you stored them, etc.

Hi there Dingbat –
we have about nine ShetlandxRyeland fleeces to sell in various colours (see photo at the top of ’sheep’ page). They are currently stored in a woolsack in Tony’s workshop & are in excellent condition, having been packed away since the day on which they were sheared.
They are such lovely, soft wool; & we’d far rather see them go to a good home where they’ll be treated well & turned into beautiful things than end up as loft insulation or whatever!
Incidentally, any advice on improved storage methods would be gratefully received; although the Wool Marketing Board seemed happy they’d be fine to include with next year’s crop if we needed to, if continually stored under their current conditions.
